Brandon Semenuk joins Chromag Bikes Family as Rider / Product Designer

Whistler, BC, June 10, 2009 – Brandon Semenuk has joined the Chromag Bikes family as a team rider and product developer. Semenuk has proven to be one of the best dirt jumpers and slopestyle competitors in the world, winning both the 2008 Red Bull Rampage as well as the Crankworx Colorado Slopestyle. The trend continues in 09 with a win at Sea Otter and again at the Jordie Lunn/ B-Labs Fresh Air event. His unique style combined with Chromag’s focus on quality, creative products will make for some very interesting product designs.

Semenuk will be collaborating with Chromag to design a dirt jump specific saddle that will be released in 2010. “I have been looking for the perfect seat and wanted to work with someone who could help me develop it. Chromag was an easy choice and I’m stoked they are interested in the project. Their focus on quality and style matches my values and Ian lives right down the street from me!”

Ian Ritz, owner of Chromag will be working directly with Brandon on a new category of saddles called “Blueprint” which will focus on the needs of the dirtjump/slopestyle market. “I’m excited to have Brandon working with us” said Ritz. “I have known him since he was half my height. We have rubbed elbows in the local races, and we share the same backyard trails…we know each other pretty well so we have a good head start for working together.”

Chromag has been expanding its saddle line over the last three years and has experienced significant growth in the all-mountain, freeride, and DH segments. “Building products for the dirt jump segment is a natural next step” said Ritz. “Our development process has always started with the riders and having Brandon on board will give us the ability to create the most relevant products” Brandon is currently testing some prototype shapes and materials, expect to see some product previews towards the fall.
